The power of using effective visuals in employee communication.
Think Visual
We live in a visual world. Employee communication isn’t really much different than advertising. Consider how you would deliver your message in a 60-second TV commercial. Powerful and entertaining visuals can help your message sing (and even dance) when done right.
Effective visuals convey information in an easy-to-digest manner and have a more lasting impression than text. As employees turn increasingly to smartphones and tablets for their day-to-day online activities, providing content that can be absorbed on the go can lead to greater awareness.
The use of infographics (also known as “data visualization”) – a cool collection of data presented as a snapshot – is catching on in employee communication. Infographics can be used as posters, in email, social media and in print. For example, instead of a wordy description of your company wellness program, consider creating a powerful graphic that displays some engaging facts and program highlights. Remember, a picture is worth 1000 words!
